I’m Kara, and “Le Carnet de Kara” is my travel journal from eight weeks in France and England in the summer of 2026.

I spent much of that time in Bordeaux, studying French and trying to live a little more like a resident than a tourist. Along the way, there were missed trains (at least one), cafés, friends, lots of language mishaps, beautiful places, unexpected detours, and a lot of photographs.

I originally wrote these entries for myself, in the moment. Now, I’m sharing them here a few at a time. I hope you enjoy it.
